Abstract
Isotropic polymer-bonded RE magnet-foils with a width of approximately 30 c m were manufactured by the solvent casting technology. The thickness of the magnet-foils could be varied between 200 and 400 mu m The remanent polariz ations amount to 0.27 T for isotropic magnet-foils based on Sm-2(Co,Cu,Fe,Z r)(17) alloy-powders and to 0.41 T for isotropic magnet-foils made of rapid ly solidified Nd-Fe-B alloy-powders. Intrinsic coercivities of approximatel y 8 kA/cm were achieved. The maximum energy densities range between 13.6 kJ /m(3) and 28.8 kJ/m(3), respectively. For saturation of the magnet-foils magnetizing field strengths up to 40 kA/ cm are required. The temperature coefficients are similar to those of sinte red magnets. The long-term temperature stability is mainly determined by th e thermal aftereffect. The maximum continuous operating temperatures amount to 100 degrees C for Sm-2(Co,Cu,Fe,Zr)(17) magnet-foils and to about 80 de grees C for Nd-Fe-B magnet-foils.
