We report on the magnetization process of submicron zigzag shaped Co wires
fabricated by electron-beam lithography. The field dependent magnetizations
and resistivities show intrinsically different types of magnetization swit
ching by changing the orientation of the fields. The magnetization switchin
g profiles are consistently interpreted based on the? magnetostatic energet
ics involving domain wall energy created at the zigzag corners. The present
results support our previous picture for the reduction of the resistivity
due to domain walls.
