Abstract
The magnetic infrared sensor (MIS) is a detector utilizing the pyromagnetic effect of ferrimagnetic film (FMF) with a low Curie temperature. When infr ared rays are absorbed by the MIS, there is a magnetization change in the s ensor. This change is read out by ii magnetoresistance element and is conve rted into ii voltage with a peak value that increases with a rise in infrar ed energy. This paper describes the construction of the MIS, and characteri zation to infrared rays.
