Abstract
Magnet skewing is a straightforward technique to minimize detent torque, An existing fast design package fail permanent magnet motors is modified to e xamine the influence of magnet skew on detent torque, axial force, and bark EMP. Magnetic lumped parameter modeling takes rare of this 3-D problem bg using the sense of average in the axial direction. Permeances representing the air gap and magnets are modified as well as the function describing the magnetic motive force distribution in the air gap.
