Af. Flores et al., Application of neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets on the assembling ofa novel planar actuator, IEEE MAGNET, 35(5), 1999, pp. 4034-4036
This paper depicts a nerv planar actuator, with novel structure and constru
ction features. It includes a slotless stationary plane armature and a move
r with two permanent magnets. By using NdFeB permanent magnets with high-en
ergy product, it became possible to develop a planar motor with a novel top
ology. The planar actuator develops movement over a plane surface as a resu
lt of the interaction between the magnetic flux and current established thr
ough the orthogonal multiphase windings that comprehend the armature circui
t. The actuator was analysed by means of the finite element method in order
to compute the nux density distribution, the forces involved and improve i
ts design The results are presented in this paper.
