The magneto-optical and optical properties of Co/Pt multilayers with variab
le Co sublayer thickness as well as pure do and Pt films and Co0.51Pt0.49 a
lloy films hale been investigated in the 1.1-4.7 eV energy range experiment
ally and also by solving the multireflection task for various models of mul
tilayer, The thickness of the alloyed interfacial region between pure subla
yers, the diagonal and off-diagonal components of the dielectric tensor for
spin-polarized Pt sublayers in the Co/Pt multilayers were determined by co
mparing the experimental and computer-simulated optical and magneto-optical
properties of the multilayers.
