Abstract
Irradiation of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives 1a-j results in the aromatiz ation of ring and formation of pyridine derivatives 2a-f and 3. Oxygen play s an important role in the rate ar failure of oxidation. In the cases of 1e -j. oxidation of ring with expulsion of the 4-substituent and formation of 3 has been observed.
