Dinuclear copper(II) complexes incorporating a new pyrazolo-based sulfur-containing binucleating ligand

The new binucleating ligand 3,5-bis(1'-(4'-(2"-pyridyl)-2'-thiabutyl))pyraz ole (BLEP) and two dicopper complexes [Cu-2(BLEP)(mu-N-3) (N-3)(N-3)(2)] (1 ) and [Cu-2(BLEP) (mu-Br) (Br) (H2O)] Br (2) were synthesized. The X-ray st ructure investigation of this system revealed that the two copper centers a re bridged by the central pyrazolyl group of BLEP and one azide tin 1) or b romide tin 2), and the side arm of the ligand coordinates to each of the co ppers with one pyridyl N and one thia S.
