Ten horses with septic tenosynovitis of the digital sheath were presented t
o the Veterinary Teaching Hospital over the six years 1992 to 1998, Five of
the horses were treated conservatively and five were treated surgically.
Seven horses returned to their intended use (five performance and two breed
ing), of which five had been surgically treated. Two horses were retired fr
om their original activities, and one horse was euthanatized due to Laminit
is of the contralateral Limb.
