Eb. Podgornaya et al., Methods for the identification and extraction-spectrophotometric determination of biologically active organic polyiodides, J ANALYT CH, 54(10), 1999, pp. 927-930
Spectroscopic (H-1 NMR and UV) and chromatographic (TLC) methods were propo
sed for the identification and determination of the purity of biologically
active iodine-containing organic compounds. A sensitive extraction-photomet
ric method was developed for the quantitative determination of preparations
by the formation of ion associates of the triiodide ion with the cation of
1,3-dimethyl-2-(4-piperidynophenyl)azobenzimidazoliumphenylsulphate dye [e
psilon(580) = (3.2-3.4) x 10(4); m(min) = 0.8-1.6 mu g]. The method is char
acterized by high precision (RSD less than or equal to 0.6%).
