Abstract
C-60 reacts with 1 equivalent of pentacene to give a C-60-pentacene mo noadduct in 59% yield. H-1 and C-13 NMR data confirm a C-2v Symmetric structure for the monoadduct consistent with C-60 cycloaddition across central carbon atoms 6 and 13 of pentacene. Seven bispentacene adduct s are formed in 13% overall yield.
