Abstract
Vibration-rotation-tunneling (VRT) spectroscopy has been extended to the 4 THz spectral region through the observation of a second intermolecular vibr ation of (D2O)(4). Analysis of the precisely measured perpendicular transit ion confirms the previously reported cyclic homodromic structure and reveal s a dramatically increased (30x) hydrogen bond rearrangement rate in the ex cited state.
