Clostridium tertium was isolated from two immunocompromised patients with s
epticemia, fever, and gastrointestinal symptoms. The strains were resistant
to ceftazidime, cefepime, and clindamycin; intermediately resistant to pen
icillin; and susceptible to metronidazole, quinolones, and vancomycin.
