The Bakke case: Part II - An analysis and implications (Reprinted from Journal of College Student Development, May, 1979)

The six different opinions in the Bakke case are analyzed to gain an unders tanding of the final decision in Eight of the issues that were considered b y the Supreme Court. Because there was nor a majority opinion in this case, a case with slightly different circumstances might produce a different dec ision. The implications for admission, financial aid, and affirmative actio n programs are discussed.
