Students' out-of-class experiences and their influence on learning and cognitive development: A literature review (Reprinted from Journal of College Student Development, March/April, 1996)

The research literature examining the effects of students' out-of-class exp eriences on academic, intellectual, or cognitive learning outcomes is exami ned. Those aspects of students' out-of-class experiences over which student affairs professionals have same central through policy or programmatic int erventions are identified.
