Evaluation of the H-point standard additions method (HPSAM) and the generalized H-point standard additions method (GHPSAM) for the UV-analysis of two-component mixtures
E. Hund et al., Evaluation of the H-point standard additions method (HPSAM) and the generalized H-point standard additions method (GHPSAM) for the UV-analysis of two-component mixtures, J PHARM B, 21(1), 1999, pp. 23-42
The H-point standard additions method (HPSAM) and two versions of the gener
alized H-point standard additions method (GHPSAM) are evaluated for the UV-
analysis of two-component mixtures. Synthetic mixtures of anhydrous caffein
e and phenazone as well as of atovaquone and proguanil hydrochloride were u
sed. Furthermore, the method was applied to pharmaceutical formulations tha
t contain these compounds as active drug substances. This paper shows both
the difficulties that are related to the methods and the conditions by whic
h acceptable results can be obtained. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri
