Abstract
Toxoplasmosis can be a fatal complication in renal transplant recipients. Feline and canine donors and recipients should undergo serologic testing fo r toxoplasmosis prior to surgery. Seropositive donors should probably not b e used for seronegative recipients, and seropositive recipients should be m onitored closely after surgery for clinical signs of toxoplasmosis. Transplant patients should not be exposed to undercooked meat products or c at feces.
