Abstract
Recent developments in advanced passive components will play a key role in
shaping future DWDM systems. From the humble optical isolator to narrow-cha
nnel multiplexers, dispersion compensators, and the wavelength stabilizatio
n of sources, it is clear that DWDM component manufacturers must innovate i
f they wish to meet the demands of next-generation DWDM systems and optical
networks.
