Abstract
Oscillations associated with the classical motion of a Bloch electron in a spatially periodic structure whose period considerably exceeds the atomic s pacing are discussed. Such phenomena include the so-called Bloch oscillatio ns, i.e., the vibrational motion of an electron in a constant uniform magne tic field, and the oscillatory dependence of magnetoresistance on a constan t magnetic field, associated with the geometrical resonance at which the el ectron orbit diameter in the magnetic field is commensurate with the superl attice period.
