Abstract
The mixed group 14/15 9,10-dimetallatriptycenes RGe(o-C6H4)(3)M (8a, 9a, 9b , and 10a) were obtained from ortho-phenylenemagnesium (4) via the tri-Grig nard reagents RGe(o-C6H4MgCl)(3) (6) and MCl3 (M = P,As, Sb). The reaction of ortho-phenylenezinc (14) with AsCl3 opened a new access to 9,10-diarsatr iptycene (7). An X-ray crystal structure of 9a and 7 is presented.
