Abstract
The generation of a frequency comb of optical signals with equal frequency spacing has been demonstrated in a semiconductor-fiber ring laser. A simpli fied theoretical approach bused on cascade cavity-enhanced four-wave mixing in a semiconductor optical amplifier is given, and potential applications are described.
