Abstract
Spin susceptibility chi obtained by electron spin resonance in quasi-one-di mensional halogen-bridged mixed metal complexes Ni1-xPdx(cyclohexandiamine) (2)Br-3 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1) shows a crossov er from Curie-like to weakly temperature-dependent behaviors above around 2 00 K. The values of chi show a clear enhancement from the linear summation of susceptibilities of Ni and Pd fractions of pure cases, without enhanceme nt of Curie-spin concentration, providing strong evidence for the conversio n of nonmagnetic Pd2+-Pd4+ states into magnetic Pd3+ states in mixed metal chains.
