The Zeeman effect of the Delta' [1s(p(3/2)):Gamma(8) --> 1s(p(1/2)):Gamma(7
)] Raman line of boron accepters in diamond exhibits the predicted eight co
mponents and four transitions within the: Gamma(8) multiplet, discovered un
der diverse polarization configurations with high resolution Fably-Perot in
terferometry. A theory in terms of the pronounced hole mass anisotropy expl
ains the observed level ordering, polarizations, and the sign and magnitude
of the intrinsic g factor of the hole. A striking mutual exclusion of Stok
es and anti-Stokes features occurs in specific circular polarization config
urations.
