The dynamics of an Abrikosov vortex and the vortex lattice in a type-II sup
erconductor with weak defects is studied taking into account both inertial
and gyroscopic (Hall) properties. The spectrum of normal modes of vortices
has two branches. It is shown that due to the interaction between defects a
nd a moving vortex the excitation of these normal mode oscillations occurs.
This leads to the appearance of an additional channel of the vortex retard
ation. In the case of a single vortex the corresponding friction force dive
rges at V --> 0 as V-1/2; i.e., in the limit of small velocities it prevail
s over the regular (bare) viscous friction force.
