Isoeythrolysis neonatorum in a newborn lamb - a case report

Despite the cause of formation of antibodies in the dam against parts of er ythrozyte membran of the lamb could not be verified it is remarkable that a lso sheep lambs may suffer from neonatal isoerythrolysis in rare cases. Due to the clinical signs and laboratory parameter the disease is relatively r eliable to diagnose. The diagnosis of neonatal isoerythrolysis was confirme d using a appropriate serodiagnostic investigation. The intensively and ear ly started therapy resulted in a improvement of the clinical status of the lamb within 24 hours. The further development of the lamb after recovering from the disease was undisturbed.
