Abstract
Copper complexes of C-2 symmetric core oxalo retro-bispeptides (HO-Aaa-COCO -Aaa-OH, Aaa = Aib, L-Leu, L-Tyr and L-Trp) have been synthesized and demon strated to bind and cleave double stranded DNA at pH 7 under physiological conditions.
