Abstract
Two hydrates of SnCl2, the dihydrate SnCl2(OH2). H2O and the less known SnC l3. SnCl(OH2)(2). H2O are compared, with emphasis on the properties connect ed with their protonic conduction: H-bonded network, conductivity and proto n NMR. Similarity between the two hydrates in the H-bonded network is notic ed but no phase transition is detected in the lower hydrate. (C) 1999 Elsev ier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
