For Bernstein-type operators and their combinations, Ditzian and Ivanov gav
e some equivalent relations. In this paper we extend these results in the p
ointwise case using the modulus of smoothness omega(phi lambda)(2r)(f, t) (
0 less than or equal to lambda less than or equal to 1).
