common clinical breast complaints that may be caused by carcinoma. The eva
luation of these problems varies with the clinical circumstance, but freque
ntly includes mammography, ultrasound, and needle biopsy techniques. The go
al of this evaluation is to identify malignant lesions and provide adequate
information for selecting local therapy in an efficient and cost-effective
manner.
