Abstract
For women with high genetic risk of breast cancer, three management options generally are considered: cancer surveillance, prophylactic surgery (i.e., mastectomy or oophorectomy), and chemoprevention. in this article, the aut hors examine the available data for all three options, and pay particular a ttention to a study of prophylactic mastectomy performed at the Mayo Clinic .
