Abstract
The probability of the presence of sulfonic groups at various distances fro m a given group in the ring fragments of a styrene-divinylbenzene network i s estimated using the approximation of molecular mechanics. The probability of having more than two neighbors is large in some of the rings containing 5-7 monomer units, which may account for a complicated dependence of the p roperties of ion-exchangers on their composition.
