Abstract
An extraction method for geochemical use was investigated for its abil ity to withstand disturbances in extraction conditions. Factors believ ed to affect the performance of the method were selected and a fractio nal factorial design was set up. The chemical analysis was carried out and the elemental concentrations were recorded as the response. Analy sis of variance showed which factors affected the responses most and w hich of the responses were relatively inert towards alterations in the extraction procedure.
