Abstract
Microirrigation is by far the most common method of irrigating citrus in Fl orida. Typically citrus trees are irrigated with microsprinklers on stake a ssemblies. Research and experience have shown that there are several import ant factors to consider when designing, installing operating, and maintaini ng a microsprinkler system in Florida. This article summarizes some of the more important aspects to consider when selecting microsprinklers for humid -region tree crops including application uniformity, clogging, insect probl ems, weal; wetting patterns, freeze protection, and emitter maintenance.
