Abstract
This article is a continuation of the radiation safety analysis of storage of spent submarine compartments with no nuclear fuel in an inlet. The first results were published in Atomnaya Energiya, 85, No. 3, 233-238 (1998). In contrast to the previous analysis, the danger of leakage of radioactive su bstances not only from shielding materials but also from a PWR type reactor with no fuel is examined. Marine storage of spent compartments in a sealed container is shown to be s afe under conditions such that water flows past the container at a rate of 10(7) m(3)/yr.
