Abstract
Oral emergencies such as tooth and bone fractures, luxations and avulsions frequently occur in dogs and cats. It is important to recognise that these need immediate treatment for a successful outcome. If the injury is treated promptly and correctly, the animal can maintain a full dentition and there fore a healthy oral cavity. An outline of the approach to emergencies in ve terinary dentistry in dogs and cats is discussed and displayed.
