Abstract
This study aimed to assess whether introducing the issue of first time oral hormonal contraception by nurse and improve the service to the client grou p. Nurse acceptability of, and adherence to, the protocol were examined. Re sults indicate that with appropriate training the first time issue of oral hormonal contraception is a valuable skill in enhancing the nurses' role, r educes waiting time for clients and is acceptable to clients.
