Abstract
A novel self-assembling vicinal diol receptor, N-(3-dihydroxyborylphenyl)-5 -mercaptopentanamide, has been synthesised via a three step procedure, char acterised by NMR, mass spectoscopy and FTIR spectroscopy and shown to be fu nctionally active by contact angle analysis, surface plasmon resonance and QCM.
