Abstract
The relativistic transformations for the electric and magnetic fields are obtained without mention of lest charges or transformation propert ies of the sources, in a way which is suitable for a beginner's course , The transformation laws follow from the fact that an electromagnetic plane wave is plane in every inertial reference system.
