SAPHO (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis) is an acron
ym that describes a seronegative syndrome of bone and joint lesions, freque
ntly localized to the anterior chest wail, associated with variable dermato
logic manifestations. Dermatologists should be aware of this entity as earl
y diagnosis can prevent unnecessary surgery and avoid prolonged ineffective
antibiotic therapy. We report three new cases and review the literature.
