The temperature dependence of pyroelectricity under de bias field was inves
tigated in La-modified lead zirconate stannate titanate antiferroelectric c
eramics. A strong pyroelectric response resulting from ferroelectric to ant
iferroelectric phase transition was detected. By different external electri
c fields, the magnitude and peak temperature of pyroelectric current were t
unable within a wide temperature range from 5 degrees C to 100 degrees C. P
yroelectric coefficient reached the order of 10(-7)similar to 10(-6) C/cm(2
).K. The observed tunable pyroelectric characteristics and large pyroelectr
ic coefficient make the PZST materials attractive for pyroelectric detector
s.
