Abstract
KLN crystals with good quality and size up to 15 x 20 x 25 mm(3) have been grown from different melt compositions by top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method. The composition of crystals varies with the change of melt composi tion, especially the content of niobium in the melt. The KLN crystals exhib it a high second-harmonic generation efficiency (similar to 20%), a wide wa velength acceptance (similar to 1.5 nm) and a temperature acceptance (simil ar to 4 degrees C) one order higher as compared with KNbO3 crystals. The ph ase matching wavelength increases with increasing the ratio of niobium to l ithium in the crystal.
