Abstract
A new canine auricular acupuncture point for the treatment for epileps y is introduced. The new acupoint was used with a previously reported canine auricular acupoint (van Neikerk and Eckersley, 1988) for the tr eatment of epilepsy in five dogs. The testimonial results of these fiv e cases indicate that the technique is worthy of scientific investigat ion, and controlled research is proposed. Only testimonial evidence cu rrently supports its application, yet this innocuous treatment is reco mmended for use in all cases of canine epilepsy. The traditional Chine se medical explanation for the treatment is described, and hypothetica l Western physiology is presented.
