Soft electron emission in ionization of light atomic targets by fast charge
d projectiles is considered within the first Born approximation. The dipole
-monopole and dipole-quadrupole corrections to the dipole term have been ca
lculated and compared. For ionization of neutral or positively charged atom
ic targets the dipole-quadrupole term is shown to be the main correction to
the dipole term.
