Spectral-angular and polarization dependences of the cross section of inela
stic scattering of electrons (with a Born parameter higher than or on the o
rder of unity) by lithium-like ions in a near-resonance external electromag
netic field are calculated and analyzed for the case of strongly inelastic
processes. Calculations are performed in the approximation of a constant qu
antum current with allowance for the non-Coulomb character of the scatterin
g potential and exchange effects in the polarization channel. The influence
of polarization-interference and nondipole effects on the cross sections o
f photon absorption and emission differential and integral in the angle of
scattering of an incident particle and on the difference (absorption minus
emission) cross section of inelastic scattering is investigated.
