Abstract
The method of direct numerical integration is applied to solve the time-dep endent Schrodinger equation for a Rydberg hydrogen atom with a high magneti c quantum number in the field of an electromagnetic wave. The results of th ese simulations are employed to discuss the results of recent experiments o n the observation of stabilization of such states against ionization in a s trong light field.
