The authors present the case of a 33-year-old patient with a bifocal gangli
oglioma located in the right superior temporal gyrus. He had a history of t
onic-clonic seizures and developed intermittent nausea and vertigo later on
. Magnetic resonance imaging showed two distinct, small lesions in the righ
t temporal lobe. Both tumors were removed microsurgically with ultrasound g
uidance. Intraoperatively, two distinct tumors were found. Histological dia
gnosis of both tumors was of ganglioglioma WHO II. Postoperatively, the pat
ient was free of symptoms. Bifocal occurrence or the coincidence of two dis
tinct gangliogliomas is a very uncommon finding. So far, it has not yet bee
n reported in benign gangliogliomas.
