Single and double electron transfer have been studied for the collision sys
tem Ar8++H-2 at low velocities (V<1 a.u.). X-ray ultraviolet and Auger spec
troscopies complemented by translational energy gain and time-of-flight spe
ctroscopies reveal details on the transfer mechanisms: in contrast to the o
ther two-electron target system (He target), a channel is opened where elec
tron capture takes place with further dissociation of H-2(+) We consider th
e target fragment dynamics and discuss possible molecule dissociation mecha
nisms. [S1050-2947(99)02010-7].
