Abstract
Studies of the helium atom in uniform intermediate magnetic fields are perf ormed with B-spline-type functions. All the matrix elements in our calculat ions are formulated as products of simple, independent one-dimensional nume rical integrals and analytic ones. As a result, our energies obtained with the B-spline basis set agree with the best calculations to within 0.13% of a fractional error. [S1050-2947(99)10009-X].
