Abstract
We investigate global textures in Brans-Dicke theory of gravity. The space- time metric and the scalar field generated by a texture are obtained using the weak field approximation. Some effects predicted by Brans-Dicke theory are compared with the corresponding ones predicted by general relativity. [ S0556-2821(99)03718-2].
