Abstract
The Auger-electron spectroscopy (AES) and the Rutherford back-scattering (R BS) of helium-4, ions were used for investigation of impurity deposited on the annular graphite limiters of T-3M tokamak after interaction between hyd rogen plasma with liquid metal limiter (Ga-In-Sn eutectic alloy in the liqu id phase). The radial, poloidal and depths distributions of the liquid limi ter atoms and other elements were obtained. We have found prevailing erosio n of light component of the alloy, that is Ga. The totality of AES and RES data as well as parameters of edge plasma and limiter allows to estimate th e erosion coefficient and conclude that physical sputtering is the basic me chanism of liquid metal erosion under T-3M conditions.
